Hello families! My name is Jillian Kwapik and this is my first year with East Shore Leadership Academy. I am thrilled to become a member of the awesome team ESLA team! I graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 with a BA in Elementary Education, a minor in Language Arts, and an endorsement in Early Childhood Education and Special Education(ZS). My dream since Kindergarten was to become a teacher, and now I am very grateful to have the privilege to be on the other side of education to support our Kindergarteners with their future dreams and aspirations. My teaching philosophy encompasses supporting the whole child in academics and social emotional development to become the best versions of themselves that they can possibly be. Each child is unique and I understand the responsibility to make sure that I am utilizing the best tools and practices to create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters each student with where they are at, as well as helping them create successful pathways to where they need to go. I believe that every student deserves someone who believes in them wholeheartedly and will lead them to their own personal successes, and I am extremely excited to work together with you on this journey!
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, practicing Yoga, practicing Mindfulness techniques, and traveling anywhere that is new and exciting!
This is going to be a fantastic year of growth filled with new and exciting opportunities for everyone, and I am eager to meet all of you in person! Welcome to the ESLA family!
